What Does CCAN DO?

CCAN distributes literature & info about Carcinoid & NET tumors via phone, mail, e-mail, conferences, CD ROMS, & our website. We have responded to thousands of information requests worldwide.

CCAN has organized and produced 13 live regional conferences, the 2005 & 2009 National Patient Conferences with NET experts from around the world. CCAN also produced four web/ phone seminars for patients unable to leave home. CCAN donates time & money to the Annual National

and International Carcinoid / NET conferences.

CCAN exhibits at medical trade shows and medical meetings such as ASCO- ‘06, ‘07, ’08, ’09, ASCO GI ’09 Digestive Disease Week (2007), Interventional Radiology ’08, NANETS ’08 ’09 & local fairs.

Support groups need support, too. We provide tools and information to groups worldwide.

Fundraising activities: CCAN’s Gala, golf outing and Strides for Stripes Zebra Walk. We distribute & sell items such as awareness stuffed zebras, bracelets, lapel pins, calendars car magnets, tote bags, & desk rulers. 100,000 bracelets distributed to date.

We contribute to medical research. Recipients include The Carcinoid Cancer Foundation, The NY Presbyterian Medical Center, LSU NET lab replacement, LSU NET Research Fund, The Doctors Cancer Foundation, The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, and NANETS.

CCAN is a proud supporter & member of (NANETS) North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society.
